The Rye Bakery craft and create, from scratch thousands of loaves of bread a week across 20 varieties for Jempson’s Stores and Coffee Shops as well as our own Outlets and Wholesale Customers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
You will be shown by Steve the principles of bread making plus the techniques involved in this specialist task.
Steve has worked at The Rye Bakery for 19 years and will provide a unique insight into the life of a baker.
Your day is sure to be an entertaining and informative one as you are shown how to prepare, mix, make, mould, bake, pack and display different kinds of bread and rolls.
You will partake in the whole production from start to finish, but don’t worry, you’ll have Steve’s undivided attention so there is ample scope for some one – to – one tuition!
A complimentary lunch will be provided for you in our restaurant, and you will be able to take home samples of your days work.
Furthermore, we have a selection of bakery books and flour ranging from some of the finest 5* Rye Bakery flour to the versatile all – purpose flour as well as recipe cards to help you become a Master Baker at home!

Price is £100 per person. ( max 6 people)

ORDER OF THE DAY
- 08:00 - Your baking day begins. (Steve's begins at 04:30!) in the Jempson's Peasmarsh restaurant. There will be introductions and refreshments with a briefing of the day's arrangements.
- 11:00 - You will have a well-deserved break.
- 14:00- Your baking day will complete with a complementary lunch.
